Protective clothing is worn by firefighters when entering the scene of fires or accidents involving chemical hazardous materials or corrosive substances, as well as in environments with toxic or harmful gases. It is used to search for fire sources or accident points, rescue trapped individuals, and engage in firefighting and rescue operations.

The chemical protective suit is worn by firefighters when entering the scene of a fire or accident involving chemical hazardous materials or corrosive substances, as well as in the presence of toxic or harmful gases, to search for fire sources or accident points, rescue trapped individuals, and engage in firefighting and rescue operations. An important point in wearing the chemical protective suit is that the gas mask must be worn before putting on the protective suit; otherwise, there is a high risk of poisoning before the suit is properly worn. Below, we will discuss the specific steps for wearing the chemical protective suit.

1) The protective suit must be inspected and pressure tested to ensure there are no defects, and it must be selected according to its intended use.

2) If necessary, at this time, anti-fog agent should be applied inside the visor of the protective suit according to the recommended instructions.

3) It is advisable to have a partner assist in putting on the protective suit.

4) Underwear should be worn inside the protective suit; at a minimum, it is recommended to wear long-sleeved shirts and long pants, or long underwear, and consideration should be given to wearing fire-resistant underwear.

5) Remove personal items that may damage the protective suit, such as pens, badges, jewelry, etc.

6) Remove shoes (this step can be skipped if wearing a protective suit with long rubber boots); some long rubber boots do not allow outdoor shoes to be worn inside.

7) Roll the pant legs into the long socks to facilitate putting on the pant legs of the protective suit and the long rubber boots.

8) If using a self-contained breathing apparatus, check and install the device, complete all connections, and adjust according to the manufacturer's requirements; do not wear the mask yet unless required by the breathing apparatus.

9) While sitting, put both legs into the protective suit. Place both feet into the outer boots and pull down the protective cover over the boots. (Note: The work boots should be 1 to 2 sizes larger than the usual boots worn, so there is enough space to fit the protective suit's soft protective cover into the outer boots.)

10) Stand up and fasten the inner belt, if available.

11) Turn on the air supply device, put on the mask, and ensure the air supply system is functioning properly.

12) Insert the arms and head into the protective suit, zip it up, and then cover the zipper.

13) Have an assistant check to ensure the zipper and wrist covers are fully tightened, the mask visibility is clear, and all air hoses are tightly connected.

14) Ensure the protective suit is in optimal working condition. When wearing the protective suit, move the arms; the airtight design of the protective suit allows for flexible arm movement, which is very necessary in emergencies to adjust the built-in air supply switch and clean the visor.

15) The wearer can easily pull their arms out of the sleeves, using the other hand to grasp the glove cuff to remove the hand from the glove and protective suit.

16) Grasp the fingers instead of the glove cuff to prevent the glove from turning inside out.
