What are the routine checks for a positive pressure air respirator?

1. Whole machine airtightness check

Close the air respirator supply valve's intake switch, open the cylinder valve, and after 2 minutes, close it. The pressure drop value within 1 minute after closing the cylinder valve should not exceed 2MPa. If the drop value exceeds 2MPa within 1 minute, each component and connection should be checked for airtightness.

2. Alarm pressure of the alarm device

Open the cylinder valve, and when the pressure gauge reading rises above 7MPa, close the cylinder valve. The drop situation should be monitored until the alarm starts, and the starting alarm pressure should be between 5-6MPa. If the starting pressure exceeds this range, the alarm device should be removed, and each component should be checked; if damaged, new components should be replaced.

3. Matching check of the supply valve and full face mask

Close the intake valve of the supply valve, wear the mask properly, then open the cylinder valve. During inhalation, a "hissing" sound should be heard; during exhalation and breath-holding, if the supply valve continues to supply air and the "hissing" sound is still heard, it indicates a mismatch. At this point, a comprehensive check or replacement of the supply valve and full face mask should be conducted, and a matching check should be redone until it is qualified.
