1. What is the working pressure of a positive pressure air respirator?
The working pressure of a positive pressure air respirator refers to the working pressure of the gas cylinder, which has a rated working pressure of 30MPa.
The filling pressure of the gas cylinder should not exceed 30MPa. In addition to understanding the rated working pressure, the maximum inhalation resistance should be ≤500PA; the maximum exhalation resistance should be ≤1000PA.
The residual gas alarm pressure is 5-6MPa. When the residual pressure alarm starts to sound, the user must immediately evacuate to a location that does not require respirator protection to avoid contamination of the environment by toxic gases or harm to the personnel conducting the detection.

2. How long can a positive pressure air respirator be used?
The usage time of the air respirator varies for different users and usage conditions, as the gas consumption rate differs. The greater the work intensity, the faster the gas in the cylinder is consumed. The usage time of the respirator mainly considers the following factors.
1. The labor intensity of the user;
2. The physical condition of the user;
3. The degree of influence of the user's excitement, fear, or other emotional factors;
4. The level of training and experience the user has with this or similar equipment;
5. Whether the gas cylinder is fully charged at the start of use;
6. The atmospheric pressure in the usage environment. For example, if used in an environment with 2 atmospheres (such as in a pressurized tunnel or container), the usage time is half that at 1 atmosphere. If used at 3 atmospheres, the usage time is one-third of that at 1 atmosphere;
7. Factors such as the mask not fitting properly or being worn incorrectly.

3. What is the service life of a positive pressure air respirator?
The service life of a positive pressure air respirator depends on its usage conditions. Generally, the service life of carbon fiber gas cylinders is 15 years. Within this period, the wear and tear of other components of the respirator should also be considered. Therefore, the service life of the respirator depends on the specific situation of the user. The gas cylinder of the positive pressure air respirator must undergo a hydrostatic test every three years within the 15-year service period, and the backplate assembly of the respirator must be inspected annually.

4. What are the routine checks for a positive pressure air respirator?
1. Overall gas tightness check.
Close the air supply valve of the respirator, open the cylinder valve, and after 2 minutes, close the cylinder valve. The pressure gauge should not drop more than 2MPa within 1 minute after closing the cylinder valve. If the pressure drop exceeds 2MPa within 1 minute, each component and connection should be checked for gas tightness.
2. Alarm pressure of the alarm device.
Open the cylinder valve, and when the pressure gauge rises above 7MPa, close the cylinder valve. If the pressure gauge drops to the alarm level, the starting alarm pressure should be between 5-6MPa. If the starting alarm pressure exceeds this range, the alarm device should be removed, and each component should be checked for integrity. If damaged, new components should be replaced.
3. Medical fitting check of the gas supply valve and full face mask.
Close the inlet valve of the gas supply valve, wear the mask properly, open the cylinder valve, and during inhalation, a "hissing" sound should be heard. During exhalation and breath-holding, if the gas supply valve continues to supply gas and the "hissing" sound is still heard, it indicates a mismatch. At this point, a comprehensive check of the gas supply valve and full face mask should be conducted, or the gas supply valve and full face mask should be replaced, and a fitting check should be redone until it is qualified.

5. How to fill a positive pressure air respirator?
Generally, for small enterprises where the usage frequency of air respirators is not very high, if there is a need to fill a positive pressure air respirator, one can choose to go to the local fire department or the dealer or manufacturer from whom the respirator was purchased for paid filling. For large industrial and chemical enterprises where the usage frequency of air respirators is relatively high, it is recommended that the using department be equipped with an air filling pump, so that it can be filled as needed.
