Maintenance and upkeep of positive pressure air respirators
2021-02-18
Positive pressure air respiratorThe inspection items after each use include: adding neutral detergent in warm water to clean the ventilation holes, and disinfecting the mask if necessary. Cylinders with pressure below 24 MPa should be refilled as soon as possible. Conduct a leak test on the positive pressure air respirator according to the preparation requirements before the shift.

Weekly checks include: cleaning the mask with a neutral disinfectant (non-phenolic disinfectant). After rinsing with clean water, allow it to air dry without baking. CheckPositive pressure air respiratorfor wear or aging of the mask and its accessories, and whether the hood straps are worn or loose. Check the cylinder, pressure reducer, supply valve, mask, and rear support for damage. If any abnormalities are found, consult a professional for handling.
Quarterly checks include: checking the entirePositive pressure air respiratorrubber components, safety belts, and whether parts are loose, worn, or aged. Check the water pressure test date of the cylinder and confirm that the cylinder is within the valid test period. If the test period has expired, immediately stop using the cylinder, mark it, and have it tested by a designated person before it can be used again. Check the calibration date of the entire machine and confirm that the empty caller is within the valid calibration period. If the verification period has expired, immediately stop using it and mark it. Check all used cylinders for physical damage, such as dents, bumps, scratches, or cracks; whether the cylinder has thermal damage due to high temperatures or fire, such as discoloration, burning, or fading writing, melting or damage to the pressure gauge; whether there are signs of chemical damage caused by acids or other corrosive chemicals, and whether the outer layer of the winding is peeling off. If any of the above situations are found, they should be handled by personnel designated by the manufacturer.
In daily maintenance and use, please pay attention to the following: 1. Do not blow compressed air from the positive pressure air respirator directly onto the body to avoid injury. 2. It is strictly forbidden to usePositive pressure air respiratoras a diving respirator. 3. Do not disassemble valves, parts, and open quick connectors under pressure. 4. The pressure values of the breathing pressure reducer, alarm, and medium pressure safety valve have been adjusted before leaving the factory. Non-professional maintenance personnel are not allowed to adjust and must not arbitrarily replace the spring in the exhalation valve. 5. When using compressed air to blow away dust and dirt from the respirator, the operator's hands, face, and eyes should be protected, and protective glasses and gloves should be worn. 6. The cylinder must not exceed the rated working pressure. 7. It is not allowed to connect a cylinder with a pressure of 30 MPa to a pressure reducer with a maximum input pressure of 20 MPa. 8. It is strictly forbidden to fill the cylinder with oxygen, nor to fill the cylinder with other gases or liquids. 9. When assembling the ventilation hole seals and parts, only a small amount of silicone grease is allowed, and oil or grease is not allowed. 10. The air source for the breathing cylinder should be clean air, free of pollution, with the air inlet height not less than 2 meters, and the air quality should meet the requirements.
